Safety Guidelines
Wear approved eye Regular prescription eyewear or sunglasses are NOT acceptable.
Long hair must be tied back into a ponytail or bun, or secured under a hat.
Suitable clothing is required. Loose clothing must be fastened or restrained. Roll up long sleeves to the elbows.
Only closed toe shoes may be worn in the shop (No sandals).
Caution any other student if you see them performing an unsafe act.
Frayed or damaged cords must not be used and need to be reported to Makerspace management.
Use a brush to clear away chips. Use a rag or paper towels to clean up oily areas.
Keep the floor and work surfaces clear of scraps and litter.
Immediately wipe or mop up any liquids spilled on the floor.
Use care in handling and storing large, heavy, or long pieces of material.
Put tools back in place when not in use.
Don’t over reach. Keep a secure footing and balance at all times.
Use a ladder to reach high objects. Under no circumstances should you climb on a chair or other nonapproved object.
